If you follow my doings and sayings you probably know or know of my girlfriend, Sarah. I follow her around writing down things she says. She makes and sings and loves and meditates and dances and puts questions to people. In a different time, there would be statues of her around the world.
Sarah’s been serving as a resident fellow at IAU in Aix-en-Provence since January. This involves getting up to all manner of goodness with students and faculty while also presenting a public lecture. The image above is her opening slide (one among many) which includes her title. I don’t imagine most of you reading this can travel to Aix to participate in the conversation she’ll lead on Wednesday, April 24th, at 6:30 in the main hall of Le Centre d’Etudes Françaises (across the way from Librarie Lagon Noir), but if you know someone nearby who might be interested, please pass on the information. Everyone’s welcome.
She’s read most of her text out loud to me. It’s as inspiring as you might imagine. If it’s recorded, I’ll see if it’s possible to share it somewhere down the line. She speaks of her process and draws an awful lot on her own memories as well as a number of outside sources. One favorite is pictured below.
And here’s another. Y’all remember books?
I’ll have more to say about this season in our lives in the weeks to come, but I wanted to commemorate and publicize this happening before it occurred. Here’s an image I snagged early on.
Thanks for tuning in, everyone.
Trusting we'll be fortunate enough to hear this.
Would very love to hear a recording if possible!!
