Emanate, harder!

I feel pretty great about my public appearances, and then I see what my daughter, Dorothy Day Dark, did with pen and paper while I was rattling on and on, and then I feel even better about my public appearances (and my daughter who, in truth, I already felt pretty great about). And let it be known, some of the words alluded to in the above illustration aren’t mine. Quite a few of them came from Chris Crofton who did me the supreme solid of putting questions to me in front of people at Parnassus the other night. We covered a lot of ground. He described his former classmate, Tucker Carlson, as an unloved child, which gave rise to this assertion: “Empire is a way of avenging your childhood.” That sounds right to me. “The magic is outside of systems.” That sounds right to me too. That’s his summation of the thesis of my book. I treasure it.
