We've met. His kids were in my classroom. His wife Maria was a faculty colleague at Christ Presbyterian Academy. I hesitate to say I know him. I hope he finds the peace he's looking for. I suspect Don Finto and Steve Berger have persuaded him that Jesus' blood somehow absolves him of his abusive behavior toward the people he solemnly swore to serve. We'll see.
I'm sorry to trouble you with it, Joyce. I'm trying to assume responsibility for my own role in empire as I contemplate Jesus' response to it. I hope the song expands the frame a little.
Yes! Jesus came into Jerusalem, humble, not riding in a Roman chariot or a Tesla or a Lexus, not even on a donkey, but on the foul of a donkey. One gospel says the foul was with its mother and that Jesus was somehow riding on both. Deep humility comes only from the realization that we are not our egos, but that we are and have always been and will always be eternal spirits. ‘What can hurt a spirit? You can take everything from a human, but you cannot harm its spirit. Even Christians do not know they are eternal spirits. THAT IS WHY THEY REMAIN SO AFRAID OF DEATH. Jesus was willing to die, why? IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH A-SWAGING GOD’S SUPPOSED ANGER AT US. It was simply to show us…..to show us…..to show us that we survive leaving our bodies. It really is just like taking-off your bathrobe. We totally survive leaving these earth suits. Clinging to our egos is like holding for dear life to a sinking ship. Just let go and you will see that you can float and also swim. How did we miss the big lessons? If you read and study the Scriptures with your ego, you will always miss the point. Jesus’ entrance was NOT A TRIUMPANT MARCH, but his embrace of humiliation and rejection, knowing they are both meaningless, knowing that, as an eternal spirits, he remains forever lovely, pure, holy, sweet, generous, forever pleasing to our father. Just get used to being in-nocent, “doing no harm.” We struggle even accepting our forgiveness, wait til we can go on to accepting our innocence. Can an ant hurt an elephant? O, yes, you have made mistakes, but you have never sinned:). Offended by this? Take it up with your Father, Who says your are precious, and so AM I.
I don’t know Bill Lee, but I often wonder how his confession of Christ jibes with his embrace of authoritarians.

Thanks for sharing ❤️
Thank you!
My day would have been better without seeing that picture. It fits the narrative but yuck! (sorry)

Wow! That song!
Yes. Love Sarah's song and your words, David. Thank you for sharing them. We don't need to kill to love - although some people think they do...
I love the ambiguity of voice, (whose), and how this immerses us in the scene
