Star Wars: Episode X (E.T.) democratizes the Force by showcasing the righteous witness of a Jedi without a lightsaber visiting Earth, befriending a child, and bestowing wisdom. It turns out accessing the Force doesn't depend on genes or a willingness to kill. Most pleasantly, the production itself is an instance in which George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have overcome rivalry to complete the saga together.
